He Said ‘No’

Laura Maxwell sent me an email about her latest post regarding John Cramphorn’s book. It is an online book by John Cramphorn entitled, He Said ‘No’. The book is his story about his troubled childhood and experimentation with Spiritualism, and how God protected him through all of his adverse experiences, until he was strong enough to cry out to God for help alone. The key word is “alone”, as John had cried out several times to Jesus to reveal Himself, but it was only when John totally depended on Christ to deliver him from demonic oppression that he received his freedom.

It is an easy read about the deception of New Age teachings leading innocent people astray into the dark side of the invisible spirit world around us. John found that “Spirit Guides” start out helpful and kind, then turn violent and evil when rebuffed. The book also shows that God allows certain bad things in our lives to teach us to depend and hunger for a relationship with Him above all others.

A quick look at our world shows that it is a broken world with broken relationships, broken homes, and broken lives. Every man is doing what is right in his own eyes; calling what is right, wrong and what is wrong, right. If you disagree and point to the Bible as the final authority of morals and ethics, you are called names and put down. If you accept what goes against the Word of God as normal, then you are accepted as tolerant and open-minded. Love and kindness have been redefined to mean that we are not able to speak out about Christ and His Word as being absolute truth. Yet those who live outside the teachings of the Bible trumpet their set of beliefs for everyone around them. Tolerance, unconditional love, and acceptance of all, is the “rule” of today. Interesting enough, this will be the focus of the One World Church under the Antichrist.

No one wants to rock the boat, so we have a world full of people trying to turn a blind-eye to the immorality and unlawfulness around us, saying this is just the way things are in the 21st century. So the world stays broken, because we have no absolute standard for how things should be when they are whole. Jesus still rocks the boat and places conditions on His love – obedience to His Word. A lawless society doesn’t like that kind of Jesus, so they set Him aside as just another great teacher, but not absolute Truth.

Consider some quotes from former leaders of our country about using the Bible as our absolute standard:

Andrew Jackson said, “The Bible is the rock upon which our republic rests.”

William McKinley said, “The more profoundly we study the wonderful book, and the more closely we observe its divine precepts, the better citizens we will become and the higher will be our destiny as a nation.”

Woodrow Wilson said, “There are a good many problems before the American people today, and before me as president, but I expect to find the solution of those problems just in proportion that I am faithful in the study of the Word of God.”

John Adams said, “The Bible is the best book in the world. It contains more than all the libraries I have seen. Suppose a nation in some distant region should take the Bible for their only law-book, and every member should regulate his conduct by the precepts there exhibited! Every member would be obligated in conscience, to temperance, frugality, and industry; to justice, kindness, and charity towards his fellow-man; and to piety, love, and reverence toward Almighty God….What a Utopia, what a paradise would this region be.”

Ronald Reagan said, “Within the covers of the Bible are all the answers for all the problems men face. The Bible can touch hearts, order minds and refresh souls.”

John Cramphorn was deceived because he had no moral compass. Others, like myself, were deceived because we doubted church doctrine; using our doubt as an excuse to experiment with worldly lifestyles. Fortunately, my personal experiences with Christ and His power over demons and Witchcraft kept my soul coming back around to true North. John found Christ and I found Christ anew. Where are you on the uncharted sea of life? Without a compass, you are at the mercy of the winds and currents of all those around you. Whatever the world says is right and proper, that is where you will drift towards. Remember, the god of this world is the devil and his demons. He will make sure that you sail toward deeper darkness, even if it looks like light. Jesus spoke of the light in us being darkness. (Matthew 6:23)

Jesus Christ is the way to the Father, pointing us to Truth and eternal Life. No man can come to the Father without coming to Christ as their personal Lord and Savior. Enjoy John’s book.
