Paul wrote to Timothy about Jannes and Jambres withstanding Moses, saying that people who withstand the Truth are like them: men of corrupt minds, reprobate concerning the Faith. (II Timothy 3:8)
The Greek word for reprobate is adokimos, meaning unapproved, rejected, worthless (both literally and morally). The word reprobate is also used in Romans 1:18, 28, and in Titus 1:16 as reference to those whom God has rejected as godless and wicked. It is upon these people that the wrath of God rests. They profess to know God but deny Him in their works, being reprobate unto every good work. They have a knowledge of God, but choose to live impure lives with no desire to please God. They justify their sins and make it acceptable, while living their lives to please themselves.
Jannes and Jambres are not mentioned by name in the Hebrew Bible; but from Jewish writings and early Church Fathers, they are believed to be two magicians who withstood Moses in Egypt. Moses appeared before Pharaoh and performed miraculous signs with his rod in the Name of Yahweh. The Egyptian magicians did the same thing, at least for the first three signs, then they were unable to duplicate what only Yahweh alone could accomplish as the one and only eternal God of all creation.
As Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses, so Paul says, in the Last Days there will come men who are of corrupt mindsets, and reprobate concerning the Truth of God’s Word. These men will also withstand the Truth and those who proclaim it as the only Truth.
Paul says the last days will see perilous times when men will:
love themselves
love money
be boastful
be proud
speak evil
disobey their parents
be unthankful
be unkind
lack natural affection
not be able to be appeased, pacified or changed
false accusers
lack self-restraint or self-control
fierce
hate those who are good
traitors
heady
lofty
lovers of pleasure more than lovers of God
have a form of piety but deny the power of God
always learning but never able to know the Truth
The same evil spirit from the gates of hell, that used Jannes and Jambres to withstand Moses and the Word of Yahweh in Egypt, is still in the world today. The demonic spirits of the Prince of Darkness have not gone away, and will not go away, until Jesus Christ returns and casts them into the Lake of Fire for eternity.
Our news in the last few years has been dominated by these spirits, using the voices of various men and women, to demand their godless ways be accepted as the norm for all of society around the world. If you listen to the tone of their voices instead of their clever rhetoric, you will discern in your eternal spirit that something is off-key and in contradiction to the Word of God and the Holy Spirit residing inside your heart and soul. Just take a look at the list above, given by the Apostle Paul, and compare what you are hearing and feeling against the Word of God. Is Paul, and the Holy Spirit who inspired Paul to pen these words of scripture, right or not?
The spiritual tide has turned in America and around the world. The demonic voices of Satan are no longer content to tempt people to sin; but now demand that the sins they commit against God are not only accepted by God’s believers, but affirmed that they are normal morality for a Godless world!
We used to feel guilty when we sinned; as our consciences convicted us of trespassing against God’s commandments. Now we justify our sins by pointing to those who do things worse than ourselves, and brag about how often we have broken God’s Word. We have gone from divorce being a stigmatic curse (in the fifties), to couples living together without marriage vows today. We have gone from children having both Mom and Dad in the home, to only one parent in the home, to neither of the adults being their parent. We have gone from sex outside of marriage, resulting in undesired labels for both the male and for the female, to who can sleep with the most partners, then sharing those partners with countless other partners. We have gone from total naivety about sex, as teenagers, to our young grade school children knowing more about sexual practices than their parents. Hollywood and the music industry have promoted godless values until they are the new mindset of our future generations. The spirits of Jannes and Jambres are making their voices known through many famous iconic people; and their followers are demanding that their sinful lifestyles be accepted and affirmed, or else. All that is pure has become impure. All that is clean has become defiled. All that is evil has become good and all that is good has become evil. These are the Last Days, the Days of Noah, as the Apostles and Christ described.
You can be sued if you do not agree with and affirm anti-God beliefs in America, the Land of the Free. You can be fired for having a bumper sticker on your car supporting traditional marriage; or for writing a book about the subject, even if you never brought it to work or mentioned it at work. We are living in perilous times, among men who are using their voices and lifestyles to promulgate godless teachings from New Age and Occultic demonic spirits. It is time to open the Bible and allow it to speak to your hearts about what is pleasing to your Creator, and turn from those ways that displease Him. He is coming back very soon to judge every person for that which they have done in their bodies. If you stand before Him without the covering of His redemptive blood you will be judged with the devil and his demons as lawless and rebellious, and suffer outer darkness. That outer darkness is filled with every evil that the devil is capable of being, and you do not want to go there. God’s Kingdom is full of peace, righteousness and joy; and this is where we all want to spend eternity, with our Lord Jesus Christ.
