Moses was instructed to build the Tabernacle in the wilderness after the pattern of the temple in heaven.
Exodus 25:40, “Be sure that you make everything according to the pattern I have shown you here on the mountain.”
This earthly tabernacle was a shadow of the real tabernacle in heaven.
Hebrews 8:5, “They serve in a system of worship that is only a copy, a shadow of the real one in heaven. For when Moses was getting ready to build the Tabernacle, God gave him this warning: “Be sure that you make everything according to the pattern I have shown you here on the mountain.”
The layout of the tabernacle in the wilderness was the same as the Temple in heaven. When Moses was given this pattern, the Tabernacle in Heaven had three parts, so Moses made the Tabernacle in the wilderness also with three sections:
1-the outer court
2-the holy place
3-the Holy of Holies
But before Moses, and before Adam, and before Lucifer fell from heaven, all things of God’s creation were one. There was no separation of the three heavens that Paul speaks of in II Corinthians 12:2.
Everything was holy and pure, without sin. Lucifer was given charge over the Earth, the planets, the stars, and the Universe. When Lucifer became proud and tried to be like God, then he was judged and cast out from the Throne Room of Yahweh, and the whole Universe became dark and cold. Lucifer became known as Satan, which means adversary or accuser.
Lucifer’s rebellion stained the very heavens.
Job 15:15, “Look, God does not even trust the angels. Even the heavens are not absolutely pure in his sight.”
Jesus shedding His Blood not only cleanses us from our sins, but it also cleanses the very heavens themselves.
Hebrews 9:23, “That is why the Tabernacle and everything in it, which were copies of things in heaven, had to be purified by the blood of animals. But the real things in heaven had to be purified with far better sacrifices than the blood of animals.”
When Lucifer sinned against God, his act of rebellion stained the beauty, purity and holiness of heaven; so that the very universe was tainted and unclean in God’s sight. This required Yahweh to put a barrier between His third heaven and the other two heavens. This is called the firmament, in Genesis.
Genesis 1:6-7, “And God said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters. And God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament: and it was so.”
We know that there are waters above our Universe, from John’s vision in the book of Revelation.
Revelation 4:6, “and before the throne there was as it were a sea of glass, like crystal. And around the throne, on each side of the throne, are four living creatures, full of eyes in front and behind:”
The ‘sea of glass’ that John saw in his vision is the ‘firmament’ that Moses speaks of in Genesis 1:6-7. God had to put this body of water there to protect His Holiness from the darkness and impurity of Lucifer/Satan who is now darkness without any light, filling the Universe with his darkness and evil.
Paul tells us that Satan is now the prince and the power of the air, and Jesus calls Satan the ruler of this world. Lucifer walked among the stones of fire, according to Ezekiel. These stones of fire were the stars and planets of our Universe.
Ephesians 2:2, “Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:”
John 14:30, “I don’t have much more time to talk to you, because the ruler of this world approaches. He has no power over me,”
Ezekiel 28:14, “I ordained and anointed you as the mighty angelic guardian. You had access to the holy mountain of God and walked among the stones of fire.”
The Tabernacle was to give us a picture of Heaven and its holiness and purity. Nothing that was unclean, nor anything that could defile the tabernacle, was allowed to enter into God’s Presence. God dwelt on the Mercy Seat of the Ark of the Covenant, between the two Cherubims, in the Holy of Holies. No one but the High Priest was authorized to enter this section of the tabernacle, and he could only enter it once a year; on the Day of Atonement.
Lucifer was the covering for the Throne of Yahweh in the third heaven. He was a light bearing angel created above all the other angels. He protected God’s Holiness and Purity with the very light radiating into him from God’s essence. (God is a consuming fire – Hebrews 12:29) He led the other angels in worship, crying “Holy, Holy, Holy, is the Lord God Almighty.” (Isaiah 6:3 and Revelation 4:8)
Originally, the covering of purity was in place in the heaven of heavens, where God dwelled with Lucifer radiating His Glory and leading the whole universe in worship to Yahweh. Lucifer was the leader of that spiritual covering for Yahweh.
When Lucifer sinned, he became Satan, or the ruler of darkness. There is no light at all in the devil; and when God put the Crystal Sea in place above our universe, then everything below the Crystal Sea became darkness, because Satan is total darkness. Lucifer only reflected the Light of Yahweh. When Satan was cut off from God’s Throne room, he became total darkness.
I John 5:19, “We know that we are of God, and that the whole world lies in the power of the evil one’
John 1:5, “The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.” Jesus is the Light.
This is why Yahweh had to say, “Let there be light” and make the Sun and stars to shine. The universe was full of Satan and his fallen angels and thus full of physical and spiritual darkness. Satan was no longer a covering for Yahweh and Lucifer was no longer pure.
God is Holy and Pure. There is no darkness or any uncleanness in Him. This is why there has never been a human being that has been able to stand before Him. Only by the Blood of Christ has the middle wall of petition been broken down and all things are able to become one in Him again. The Blood of Christ is our propitiation or covering for all our sinfulness and uncleanness. His Blood justifies us and makes us presentable to the Father. Nothing we can do can make us good enough or clean enough to be able to dwell in Heaven with a Holy God. All of us have sinned and come short of the Glory of God. We all need a covering of purity, the Blood of Jesus Christ that is applied by Faith in Him as the only way to the Father.
Jesus said that we needed to become as a little child, and that we needed to be Born Again of the water and of the Spirit to be able to enter into the Kingdom of God. A spiritual transformation by the Word of God brings a spiritual purity that allows us to sit together with Christ in heavenly places in this life; and to dwell with Him in glorified bodies, for eternity, when He returns for His Bride.
Just by living in this world, we are covered with darkness and uncleanness; because this world is ruled by the devil and his fallen angels and demons of darkness. We are all born into sin and need a Savior. We need a spiritual covering of light and purity.
Jesus is the Light of the world and he that is of the light comes to the light. He that loves darkness draws deeper into the darkness. Which one will you draw close to? Jesus Christ or the devil?
