The Lord’s Prayer – Your Will Be Done – Part Two

obedience our gift to God

In the previous post, I wrote about the will of the Lord being done from the standpoint of how heaven and the world of angels are organized and how they willingly do the will of God, their Creator.

This hierarchy of leadership carries over from heaven into the natural world.

Governments

Jesus taught us to give unto Caesar that which belongs to Caesar. (Mark 12:17)

Paul taught us to pray for all those in authority, that we may lead peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. (I Timothy 2:1-2)

He also taught us that all levels of governing authorities have been established by God. (Romans 13:1)

Titus taught us to be subject to rulers and authorities, to be obedient and ready to do whatever is good. (Titus 3:1)

Peter taught us to submit to every human authority whether it is the President, or the local authorities who are there to punish those who do wrong and commend those who do right. (I Peter 2:13-14)

Paul also taught that there are angels who are watching us as to whether we are submissive to God’s authority or not.

I Corinthians 11:10 says, “For this reason, and because the angels are watching, a woman should wear a covering on her head to show she is under authority.”

Hierarchy of Home

Paul goes on to teach the hierarchy of the home:

Christ is head of the husband

Husband is head of the wife

Wife is head of the children

It is interesting that Paul says the reason for a woman’s covering and submission to her husband has something to do with the angels.  What does he mean by this?

Lucifer was an angel created above all the other angels. He rebelled and led 1/3 of the angels with him against the authority of God. God cast him and those 1/3 angels out of heaven. Lucifer is now known as Satan and is the authority of the air, or the first heaven, and has great influence over the second heaven. Only the third heaven, where God dwells, is kept pure and holy by the Blood of Christ.

Genesis chapter six speaks of ‘Watchers’, or angels, who had authority over specific areas of the earth. Daniel’s prayers were resisted for 21 days by the ‘Prince of Persia’, an angel under the authority of Satan who evidently influenced the Kingdom of Persia for evil. (Persia is today the area of Iran, where evil is still being promoted today)

Another scripture speaks of offending the angel who God sent before the Children of Israel to bring them to the Promised Land.

Exodus 23:20-23 says, “See, I am sending an angel before you to protect you on your journey and lead you safely to the place I have prepared for you. Pay close attention to him, and obey his instructions. Do not rebel against him, for he is my representative, and he will not forgive your rebellion. But if you are careful to obey him, following all my instructions, then I will be an enemy to your enemies, and I will oppose those who oppose you. For my angel will go before you and bring you into the land of the Amorites, Hittites, Perizzites, Canaanites, Hivites, and Jebusites, so you may live there. And I will destroy them completely.”

Paul also says in Hebrews 12:1 that we are surrounded by a great cloud of witnesses to the life of faith, so we should run with endurance the race God has set before us. Most scholars believe he is referring to angels.

Ecclesiastes 5:6 says, “Suffer not thy mouth to cause thy flesh to sin; neither say thou before the angel, that it was an error: wherefore should God be angry at thy voice, and destroy the work of thine hands?”

If we understand that God has a strict order of authority among His angels in heaven, and that there are both good and evil angels trying to influence the kings and nations of the world for good or bad, then these scriptures about the leadership of the home and society take on more meaning.

angel fighting

Angels are watching presidents, kings and queens to see if they submit to God’s authority or not. Nations will be judged as Sheep and Goats at the Great White Throne Judgment Day.

Angels are watching governors, mayors, council members, and all other branches of local government to see how they will obey God’s authority or not.

Angels are watching over churches, schools, and all manner of organizations for the same reasons.

Angels are watching the homes of the world to see if the husband and wife and children will obey God’s authority or not.

Why are they watching everyone at every level of authority?

Because the good angels saw the rebellion of the evil angels; and now God has created a creature called man, who is made a little lower than the angels and of whom some will be chosen to replace the evil angels and live in heaven and help rule the New Earth and New Heavens.

There will be no rebellion in Heaven ever again. God’s ‘Will’ will be done on the New Earth and in the New Heavens, just like it is now in God’s 3rd heaven. He expects His Will to be done in all levels of society and government, in all organizations, in the home and in each individual life.

Can you imagine what that would be like? Paradise! Heaven on earth!

To be continued….
