Discerning the Truth Behind the Lie!

Discerning the Truth Behind the Lie

The natural mind of man cannot comprehend the things of God, for they are spiritually discerned. (I Corinthians 2:4)

There are many voices, but none of them without significance. (I Corinthians 14:10)

Police arrested a man, who was impersonating a police officer, Monday evening in Grove City, Ohio. He would tell people he was a police officer for the city of Columbus. This was not the first time he had done this, as he also impersonated a police officer and a U.S. Marshal in Utah last May. He also claimed to be a military vet.

Under this disguise, he was able to steal his girlfriend’s and the girlfriend’s mother’s identities to charge thousands of dollars on credit cards. He then would give a new TV and other things to his girlfriend, bought on her credit! The girlfriend was able to secure one of his fake incident report forms and give it to the real cops. When police responded to an altercation at a Grove City motel, they realized that this man was the one they had been looking for, and they arrested him.

This man had a significant voice, a voice of a police officer; that is, as long as people believed his words without checking his credentials. Under disguise, he was able to steal iPhones from AT&T with the help of another con-man.

The enemy of our souls doesn’t come to us in his true form. If he did, none of us would have anything to do with him; for he is the true essence of evil personified. Instead, he disguises himself into an angel of light, many times through the help of a con-man. (II Corinthians 11:14)

Just as the fake police officer was able to convince a girlfriend and employees of AT&T that he was the real deal, the devil is able to convince us that he is really an angel of God on a mission to help us accomplish whatever our souls desire; as long as it is not the Will of God for our lives.

Just as the fake police officer was able to convince another dishonest person to help him to hoodwink AT&T employees out of their iPhones, the devil uses other people and circumstances, that just happen to be in the right place at the right time, to help him deceive us into believing he is the real deal and we are doing the right thing.

If we try to discern with our natural mind what is right and what is wrong, we will miss the Will of God for our lives; because the Bible says the things of God are ‘Spiritually’ discerned, and the ‘natural’ mind cannot know them. (I Corinthians 2:4)

His words were as smooth as butter, but a sword was in his heart. There is a way that is right unto man, but the end thereof is death. (Psalm 55:21)

Jesus said what is in the heart comes out through the mouth. To discern whether a person is honest or dishonest, one has to test his words against the Spirit of God and the Word of God.

Mortal man cannot know what is in the heart of another mortal being. Only the Immortal God is able to see what is in the heart of each and every man, woman and child on this planet. (I Corinthians 2:11)

When the spirit of man is Born Again, God’s Holy Spirit gives man’s spirit discernment into the Mind of Christ, or the Will of God. Jesus Christ is the Word, or the Logos, of God manifested in a body of flesh. As God in the flesh, He becomes the living bread that mortal man lives by. He taught us to pray, ‘Give us this day, our daily bread’. This bread is more than our earthly meals, it is our spiritual manna as well; for He said that ‘man does not live by bread alone, but by every ‘Word’ that proceeds out of the mouth of God. Jesus is every word that proceeds out of the mouth of His Father, for He is the Father made visible in flesh.

Many Christians walk after the flesh and not after the Spirit, because they have never learned to discern the ‘spirit’ behind the ‘words’ of those they are interacting with on a daily basis; and thus many are led astray into false teachings and into sinful behaviors that bring bondage and hardship into their lives. The devil then has accomplished his purpose of stealing, killing and destroying the good that God has for us if we obey Christ’s teachings. (John 10:10)

Judas was used by Satan to betray Christ into the hands of the Jewish leaders for Crucifixion. The Scripture plainly states that the devil entered into him at the Last Supper, and he went right away to arrange the meeting in the garden. The devil was unable to accomplish this without an accomplice. He needed the voice and dishonesty of the heart of Judas to help him to kill Christ. The devil thought that if he could kill Christ, then that would be the end of Christ taking souls from his dark kingdom; but he was wrong, for he did not see the Resurrection, nor did he see Christ descending into hell to take the keys away from him. He and his demons laughed and mocked at the Cross, but then they trembled in fear when Jesus stood before them in hell, demanding the keys to hell and the grave!

As for Judas, he hung himself when he saw what he had done in the carnality of his natural mind. The devil couldn’t destroy Christ, but he did destroy the soul of Judas.

The fake cop was able to deceive and steal from people, as long as they believed he was a real cop. Judas was able to see the thirty pieces of silver and future favor with the Jewish leaders, until he saw the end result of his wrong choices. Numerous souls are being led astray today by false teachers (through New Age, the Occult, Secular Humanism and Radical Islam) leading them away from the Truth of Christ and His Word, into antichrist demonic worldviews. The natural mind is their only guide through life, and because it is against the things of God and cannot know them, their end will be spiritual death and physical destruction outside the peace and love of God’s Presence. (Proverbs 14:12)

Paul said that we have the mind of Christ because we have the Word of God and the teachings that Christ personally gave to Paul to give to us. Jesus resisted the misinterpretation of the scripture by the devil with the correct interpretation of scripture. We have to do the same; and the only way to do that is to spend time reading the scriptures that apply to every situation we face in life.

Then, when the accomplice of the devil stands before you speaking words that go against what the Word of God says, the Holy Spirit which is in you will quicken your human spirit to rise up and say, “This is not of God! This does not feel right in my heart! This does not agree with what His Word says! This does not agree with what my spirit has experienced with Christ personally!”

Because you are not relying on your human mind which is carnal and cannot know the things of God which are spiritually discerned, and you are relying on what the Word of God says about this situation and upon what your human spirit is feeling from the Holy Spirit dwelling in your heart, you are able to discern that the person before you is speaking words of butter, but they really are words that will slice your soul as a sword. You will know the significance of each voice as you test the spirits behind the voices against the Holy Spirit that permeates the Word of God and dwells in your human spirit!

Know the Word of God and spend time in prayer to keep your spirit free in His Holy Spirit, and then you will know when the devil is speaking through a person and trying to lead you into a false teaching or into an activity that displeases your Heavenly Father.

John 14:16, “And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Helper, to be with you forever, He is the Holy Spirit, who leads into all truth. The world cannot receive him, because it isn’t looking for him and doesn’t recognize him. But you know him, because he lives with you now and later will be in you.”

John 16:13, “When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all truth. He will not speak on his own but will tell you what he has heard. He will tell you about the future.”

Matthew 7:15, “Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly are ravenous wolves.”

Matthew 24:4, “And Jesus answered them, “See that no one leads you astray.”

I Timothy 3:5, “Now the Spirit expressly says that in later times some will depart from the faith by devoting themselves to deceitful spirits and teachings of demons,”

II Timothy 3:5, “They will act religious, but they will reject the power that could make them godly. Stay away from people like that!”

I John 4:1-3, “Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, for many false prophets have gone out into the world. By this you know the Spirit of God: every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God, and every spirit that does not confess Jesus is not from God. This is the spirit of the antichrist, which you heard was coming and now is in the world already.”

II John 1:7-11, “ For many deceivers have gone out into the world,  those who do not confess the coming of Jesus Christ in the flesh. Such a one is the deceiver and the antichrist. Watch yourselves, so that you may not lose what we have worked for, but may win a full reward. Everyone who goes on ahead and does not abide in the teaching of Christ, does not have God. Whoever abides in the teaching has both the Father and the Son.  If anyone comes to you and does not bring this teaching, do not receive him into your house or give him any greeting, for whoever greets him takes part in his wicked works.”
