Christianity
Christianity started out in Jerusalem with Jesus Christ being born of the virgin Mary as the Son of God. He soon chose twelve and then another seventy to spread His message throughout the world and announce that His kingdom was near. He promised to return for those who believe in Him as their Lord and Savior, so that we could be with Him with His Father.
Muslims
Muslims also believe that Jerusalem is a holy city for their prophet Mohammed and god Allah. They are determined to take the city for themselves and rid the land of Jews and Christians, as well as the world.
Jews
Jews claim the land as a promise from Jehovah to Abraham and to David, and wish to rebuild their temple to usher in their Messiah. But they don’t believe it is Jesus Christ, because they rejected Him when He arrived the first time as the son of man, and they are expecting a King of kings to rule on the throne of David.
The Battle for Jerusalem
Hence, we have the battle going on for the land that the Nation of Israel occupies, without any possibility of peace between the Arabs and the Jews. Christians, Jews and Arabs all attached to Jerusalem for three different reasons.
Zechariah foretold about this conflict over the city of Jerusalem. “I will make Jerusalem like an intoxicating drink that makes the nearby nations stagger when they send their armies to besiege Jerusalem and Judah.” (Zechariah 12:2)
Jerusalem is God’s City
Jerusalem is the city that almighty God has chosen to rule the world, through Jesus Christ, for a thousand years of peace. He then will destroy the old world with fire and create a new earth and new heavens, where His justice and holiness will permeate all creatures inhabiting it. (Psalm 48:1,8 & Daniel 9:19)
Israel Elections – 2015
Benjamin Netanyahu is up for reelection as Prime Minister of Israel against Isaac “Buji” Herzog. Netanyahu is against allowing Jerusalem to be divided again in favor of a Palestinian state for the sake of peace. Jerusalem was captured in the 1967 six day miraculous war, and Netanyahu will not allow it to be taken back. Hezog has promised, if he wins this election, to allow the division of Jerusalem for the sake of a peace treaty with the Palestinians.
Iran
Iran is getting closer to wearing down the Obama administration for permission to build a nuclear weapon. Netanyahu says that if Iran gets permission for one, then they will build a whole arsenal. Russia backs Iran and Syria and a lot of other Arab groups who are anti-Israel. China, Russia, and North Korea are flexing their military muscles while America uses up stockpiles of armaments, as our military infrastructure wears down.
Battle with Russia
The Bible foretells a war that involves Russia attacking Israel when her walls are down and she lives in a peaceful environment. Ezekiel, chapters thirty-eight and thirty-nine, describes this war and shows that God Himself will fight against those who attack Israel. The dead from this war will supply fuel from their weapons for seven years, and Israel will be burying the dead from this war for seven months!
American Dollar unstable
The American Dollar has been destabilized for sometime now and many are predicting an economic catastrophe in the next few years that will paralyze not only our country but the economy of the world, since the dollar makes the world go round. Ezekiel 7:19 says “They will throw their silver into the streets, and their gold will be an unclean thing. Their silver and gold will not be able to save them in the day of the Lord’s wrath. They will not satisfy their hunger or fill their stomachs with it, for it has made them stumble into sin.”
World’s Cry for Security – Peace and Safety
There is a cry for a chip to provide security for our bank accounts and personal information. Even the IRS and the Social Security Department do not have accurate records of who is dead or alive at this present time. 6.5 million Americans are shown to be 112 or older! Smart cards and complex passwords changed often will not stop those who know how to defraud the system. Who really knows what is floating around in cyber space about any of us? The Bible says when peace and safety are cried for; then sudden destruction is near. (I Thessalonians 5:3)
If Netanyahu Loses Election
If Netanyahu loses this election and Herzog wins, will this mean the beginning of the negotiations to divide the city of Jerusalem once again? If so, will this usher in the other pieces of the puzzle that allows Iran and Russia, along with their allies in the Middle East, to wage war on Israel and try to drive her completely out of the land? If there is a battle of this magnitude involving Russia and the Almighty God destroying her as He protects His land and city and people, will this create the fall of the American dollar and usher in a New World Order with its one world currency or chip system?
The Generation of Israel is ‘This Generation’
Israel was born as a nation in 1948. The Bible says that a generation is from 70 to 80 years long. Israel will be seventy in 2018 and 80 in 2028. Jesus said, “ Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled.” (Matthew 24:34) He was speaking of the generation that saw Israel as the fig tree begin to blossom as she has done since 1948. If you read the whole chapter, you will see that He gives many different things that will take place that will be signs that we are living in the last days before His second coming. Please take time to read these and find a good commentary to expound them for your study and preparation of what we all will be facing in the next few years.
We Can’t Know Day or Hour, but We Can Know the Season
We don’t know the day or the hour when Jesus will return, but we can know the signs which tell us whether we are in the season of His coming or not. Jesus said when we see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors. He gives quite a list of ‘these things’ for us to know that He must surely be standing at the Doors of Heaven, ready to give that command and shout for His people.
Pray For Jerusalem’s Peace and the Salvation of the Jewish People
Whether you believe He will come before the Tribulation, halfway through the Tribulation, or at the end of the Tribulation, one thing is for sure, Israel is going to be the key player in ushering in the end of time as we know it. Pray for the peace of Jerusalem, and support those who are trying to lead those Jews to Christ as their true, longed-for Messiah! God loves and blesses those who love and bless Jerusalem!
