Seven Feasts of Israel – Trumpets

Seven Feasts of Israel – Trumpets

Appointed Times

God gave appointed times to the nation of Israel for remembering what He had done for them in the past, and for what He has promised to do for them in the future. They were times of celebration and rest from their labors. They carried historical meaning for the children of Israel, as well as prophetic meaning for what God was going to do for them in the future.

Christ became feasts to deepen our relationship with Him

We as Christians study them to make us appreciate what God did for us through Jesus Christ fulfilling the Law of Moses and bringing us Grace, while also realizing that Christ became the actual feasts to deepen our personal relationship with Him until He returns.

Feast of Passover –

The Feast of Passover celebrated the deliverance of Israel from the slavery of Egypt. The blood on the doorposts of their homes spared their firstborn sons from the death angel. Jesus became our Passover Lamb, dying at the same time as the lamb in the temple, and His Blood is applied by faith to our hearts as we believe in Him. He will deliver us from the evil of the antichrist during the last seven years of this age.

Feast of Unleavened Bread –

The Feast of Unleavened Bread is closely tied to Passover. The bread was to be made without yeast because they were in a hurry to leave Egypt. Yeast represented sin, hypocrisy, unbelief, pride and self-righteousness. As yeast ferments and changes the composition of the dough, sin starts small in our lives and changes into something that rules our whole mind, soul and body. Jesus and Paul warned us about the leaven of insincerity and wickedness. Jesus gave us the example of the feast as the Last Supper with His disciples. Two disciples went to prepare a room for the meal, meaning they went to make sure that there was no yeast or anything with leaven left in the house. Jesus became our Bread of Life as His body was broken for us on Calvary. His Blood is symbolized by the cup of the Lord which we partake of at Communion in remembrance of His Blood shed for our sins.

Feast of First Fruits –

The Feast of First Fruits was celebrated by Israel in thankfulness of what God, as King of the Universe, had done for them in giving them bread from the ground. They waved the first fruits of the harvest before Him in thanksgiving, while also remembering their freedom to work without bondage. Jesus became our first fruits by rising from the grave and ascending to His Father, thus giving us the promise that where He is, there we can be also. The Scriptures promise that He will return to snatch His believers out of this world. Believers in Him will be the harvest, that follows the first fruits of His resurrection from the dead, that He presents to His Father.

Feast of Pentecost –

The Feast of Pentecost celebrated the giving of the Law to Moses, referred to as the Old Covenant. The Law was given soon after their release from Egypt, and they are birthed as the Nation of Israel. Jesus told His disciples to wait for the Promise of the Holy Spirit as He ascended before them into the clouds. The angels confirmed that He would return in the same manner that He had gone away. The disciples, together with Mary, the mother of Jesus, waited for this promise in an upper room in Jerusalem. God once again demonstrated His power and presence by manifesting in tongues of fire and a mighty wind. Both Jews and Gentiles were brought together under a New Covenant by writing the Laws in their hearts instead of upon tables of stone. Pentecost is still happening today; and those who believe in Him as their Lord and God are still looking to the clouds, watching for His return for them.

Feast of Trumpets –

The Feast of Trumpets was celebrated by Israel as Rosh HaShanah, meaning beginning of the New Year. It is observed in the seventh month of Tishri, which is our September and October. Judaism believes that on this day, the destiny of all mankind is recorded by God in the Book of Life. The Bible doesn’t say exactly what this day was to celebrate; it just says it was as High Sabbath on which they were to blow the trumpet, or Shofar, and do no work. Even the blowing of the trumpets could literally mean shouting an exclamation of joy, or a battle cry. Some believe it looked forward to the day of Jericho’s fall and becomes a type of the Rapture, since Paul said we shall be raised at the Last Trumpet. The ‘last trumpet’ has given many Bible Scholars difficulty in trying to align it up with the trumpets of judgment in the Book of Revelation. The seventh trumpet, or the last trumpet to sound in Revelation, begins the pouring out of the last seven bowls of judgment on the seat of the antichrist, which is far removed from where most believe the Rapture taking place. The debate continues, but soon we will know, for all the other signs of the times are being fulfilled before our eyes and Israel is playing a significant role in the realignment of the major nations of the world now, getting ready for the battle of Gog and Magog.

Yom Kippur and Day of Atonement –

It is interesting to note that the Day of Yom Kippur, or the Day of Atonement, occurred ten days after the Feast of Trumpets. Feast of Trumpets announced the beginning of ‘Ten days of Awe’, which was a time of repentance for the children of Israel. It was a time of penitence, prayer and fasting, in preparation for the Feast of Tabernacles. It was an opportunity for change, until the Day of Atonement on which there was no turning back. If they were right with God, they were inscribed in the Book of Life – if not, they were inscribed in the book of death. The Days of Awe seems to point to the days of tribulation when God shall test the hearts of men, giving them one final chance to believe in Him as the only true God or be lost with Satan forever.

Rapture Next or Not?

While many believe the Rapture is the next major event on God’s calendar, could it be that the sounding of the Trumpet opens the door for evil to take place in the form of Russia and her allies attacking America, and then Israel? Then the ten days, or whatever that equals to as a period of time, is given for people to repent before He catches His Bride away? Then the Antichrist steps on the scene, beginning his deception as a man of peace, when war is really is his heart.

I have always believed that the church is too lukewarm to be snatched out of anything, and that there has to come a period of trouble to wake her up to re-dedication of prayer and fasting and separation unto her God. While many today are zealous and busy for their Lord, there are so many others who are going through the formalities without any daily practice of their faith. We need a major world event to awaken the church to the reality that God’s Words are True, and will come to pass; and we had best be watching and waiting, with clean hearts, for the call of our names!

ISIS, Russia, Iran, Syria, China, North Korea, violence and unnatural affections everywhere, decline of America’s economy, immorality and sodomy sweeping the globe, Antichrist teachings being embraced more every day – all signs of the Days of Noah.are you ready to meet your God?
