What kind of President would you make?
The Grand Old Party debates last evening gave us an insight into the thinking of the candidates desiring to be the president of the United States of America. The moderators of the debate asked questions designed to draw out the strengths and weaknesses of each candidate on key issues facing our country in a violent chaotic world ready for another world war. National Review states that Marco Rubio clearly dominated the night while Trump told reporters, “I won!”
They all seemed to agree that Obama was not protecting us and creating the world instability that is centered round Radical Islam and Russia’s involvement with Syria; and that the next president would be going to war. They also agreed that Hillary Clinton would do as Obama if elected president.
I couldn’t help but think about angels as each candidate had their turn to express their beliefs as to how to deal with America’s issues and involvement with the Middle East conflicts.
Yes, I thought about angels.
Psalm 22:8 says, “For the kingdom is the LORD’S: and he is the governor among the nations.” (KJV) “For the kingdom is the LORD’S And He rules over the nations.” (NASB)
Daniel 4:17 says, “This matter is by the decree of the watchers, and the demand by the word of the holy ones: to the intent that the living may know that the most High ruleth in the kingdom of men, and giveth it to whomsoever he will, and setteth up over it the basest of men.”
The World English Bible says it this way. “The sentence is by the decree of the watchers, and the demand by the word of the holy ones; to the intent that the living may know that the Most High rules in the kingdom of men, and gives it to whomever he will, and sets up over it the lowest of men.”
When Jesus was tempted by Satan, He was offered the Kingdoms of this world, if He would bow down and worship Satan. Jesus did not dispute Satan’s claim as ‘ruler’ of this world. In John 12:31, Jesus refers to Satan as the Prince of this world and promised that he would soon be cast out and judged to the Lake of Fire.
Revelation 11:15 says, “Then the seventh angel blew his trumpet, and there were loud voices in heaven, saying, “The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of his Christ, and he shall reign forever and ever.”
Revelation 21:1-7 tells us that Jesus will make all things new including the earth and the heavens and He will rule from Jerusalem as King of kings and Lord of lords. He will dwell with His people on the New Earth and the New Heavens will be seen and enjoyed as it was originally in the Garden of Eden where Jehovah walked with Adam in the cool of the evening.
When Daniel prayed and fasted for 21 days seeking God for revelation about the reestablishing of Israel in Jerusalem as God’s chosen people, he was resisted by a principality which had spiritual authority over Persia. The angel who came to Daniel was believed to be Gabriel who informed Daniel that Michael had to help him defeat this ‘prince’ of Persia, before he could deliver the answer to Daniel’s 21 days of praying and fasting.
If God rules over the kingdoms of this world via angels referred to variously as ‘watchers’, ‘holy ones’, ‘angels’ and ‘archangels’, and they have to resist ‘fallen angels’ and ‘dark princes’ who in turn try to influence the kingdoms of this world for Satan; then there were most definitely ‘ANGELS’ involved in last night’s debate.
While the debate was a testing process by human moderators to draw out the strengths and weaknesses of each candidate to help the American voters to decide who should be the next president; we must remember that the testing process was also being influenced by angels, both good and bad, to help persuade the voters for or against the ones who would bring our nation back to Godly principals.
When Jesus instructed His followers to ‘watch and pray’ He was asking us to see with ‘spiritual’ eyes what is going on behind the actions and words of humans, in light of the Truths of His Word. One of those truths is that there is a battle for this world and the souls of men, and Jesus is returning to cast out the evil and establish His Kingdom of Righteousness for eternity!
When you look at Russia, China, Syria, Iran, and radical and apocalyptic Islam do you see good or evil angels influencing their leaders? What do we see when we look at America? Is there more evil influence going on in America government today than there was fifty years ago? Why was JFK taken out? Was he bucking the system of the elite and their goal of a One World Government?
Paul said we wrestle not with flesh and blood, but against principalities, powers, rulers of darkness, and spiritual wickedness in high places. (Ephesians 6:12)
This election is a pivotal election for it will be a testing process for America as to whether she chooses to return to God and secure His blessing for a few more years as a world power and a protector of Israel, or whether she will choose to become a fascist government and run pell-mell toward Armageddon.
Make no mistake, Armageddon will come. It has been prophesied and God never ever fails to fulfill His Word. But God has shown that He delays His judgement when people repent and turn from their wicked ways back to Him. Just look at Hezekiah who was ill and going to die, until he sought God and was granted a life extension of 15 years and deliverance from destruction by Assyria. (II Chronicles 7:14 & II Kings 20:2-6) (Assyria of Daniel’s day is the same area as Iran and Iraq bordering on Syria today)
What will the next 5, 10, 15 years bring to America and our world? We are being tested as a country and as individual souls. The words and mannerism of the candidates revealed a lot about each one last night as to what kind of president each would make if elected. What are the trials of life revealing about your words and behavior? Good and evil angels try to influence you each day to do right or wrong, to wear you out and make you give up your faith and walk with Christ. Do you like what is being revealed about your life in this testing process?
Jesus is coming back to rule over those who remain faithful to Him and have overcome the evil of this world. What kind of ‘president’ would you make if He chooses to make you ruler over a particular group of people on the New Earth or in the New Heaven?
He that is faithful will reign with Christ in His New Kingdom. ”And you have caused them to become a Kingdom of priests for our God. And they will reign on the earth.” (Matthew 25:14-30 &Revelation 5:10)
It is all the more important that each Christian prays the Lord’s Prayer each and every day as often as they are led to do so…..it ask God for His will to be done on earth as it is in heaven, as well as forgiveness for our sins, and protection from the evil of this world while supply our daily bread…..isn’t this what we need today more than at any other time in our history as a country or as a world?!!!!
