What and Who Our Confessions Attract

The power of attraction. The very word attracts. The law of attraction is the name given to the belief that “like attracts like” and that by focusing on positive or negative thoughts, one can bring about positive or negative results. For example, if a person opened an envelope expecting to see a bill, then according to the law of attraction, the envelope would “confirm” those thoughts and contain a bill when opened. A person who decided to instead expect a check might, under the same law, find a check instead of a bill. Although there are some cases where positive or negative attitudes can produce corresponding results, there is no scientific basis to the law of attraction.

In the days of Noah, right before the flood, “Then the LORD saw that the wickedness of man was great on the earth, and that every intent of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.” Genesis 6:5 NASB

Man has the ability to envision desires in his mind, to the point where Jesus said that if a man looked on the beauty of a woman and lusted after her in his heart, he already committed adultery. The imagination is a powerful element of our soul. When we put ‘intention’ behind these imaginations with our ‘will’ then things can come to pass, but not always with the end result you first imagined.

Jeremiah tells us that “The heart is more deceitful than all else And is desperately sick; Who can understand it? Jeremiah 17:9 NASB Proverbs 16:9 says, “The mind of man plans his way, But the LORD directs his steps. (NASB) James has this to say about making your plans with just your imagination: 13 Come now, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go to such and such a city, and spend a year there and engage in business and make a profit.” 14 Yet you do not know what your life will be like tomorrow. You are just a vapor that appears for a little while and then vanishes away. 15 Instead, you ought to say, “If the Lord wills, we will live and also do this or that.” James 4:13-15 NASB

So while the imagination has power to attract ‘like-things’ to that which you personally ‘like’, it is no guarantee that there will be a check in the envelope instead of a bill.

We humans are funny creatures. We’ve chosen allegiance with Satan over a relationship with God, since the Garden of Eden. We are self-destructive. We’d rather cheat on a test than study, speed to work than leave home on time. We don’t want anyone to tell us what to do. It boils down to ‘pride’. ‘I’ can make my own choices. ‘I’ can live the way ‘I’ want to live.

Pride is what caused Lucifer to fall from heaven. Pride is against the unconditionally loving nature of God. When one has a supernatural experience with God, one is humbled and not lifted up with pride. On the other hand everything about this world teaches us to be ‘proud’ and ‘superior’ to others, looking out for number one, because nobody else will. Pride is one of the works of the flesh that Paul writes about in the book of Galations.

Revelation 1:29 reads, “And the great dragon was thrown down, the serpent of old who is called the devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world; he was thrown down to the earth, and his angels were thrown down with him.” (NASB) Satan, ever since he was cast out of heaven, has gone back and forth around the world seeking those susceptible to his deceptions. When he is cast down to the earth literally, to possess the Antichrist, he will perform the greatest deception of all times, causing the whole world to worship him as god.

There are two worlds, the natural and the spiritual. We are fascinated with the power of our ‘self’ in using our ‘thoughts’ to ‘visualize’ our happiness and success. We, like Satan, have become ‘little gods’ who don’t need anyone to tell us what to do or how to do it, not even God and His Christ.

I have rebelled against organized religion because of the hypocrisy and double standards of saints and preachers. I have always said that I am a rebel with a strong German nature to resist being coerced or manipulated into anything. My Cherokee nature seeks the true hidden meaning behind what is being said and what is being done, looking for the real motive. My Irish nature is intensely passionate about what I feel to be just and right.

In this rebellion against the church, I have gone independent, and withdrawn from the duality of people who profess to know everything better than I do. Since I have retired, and have time to do more reading, study and research on the psychological and spiritual nature of man, my eyes are being opened to what is really going on behind the curtain around us. These two worlds of natural man and spiritual man are like a mine field, where every step could be the end of your life. Yet we see an explosion of shows on television, and hear lyrics of songs, promoting the power of ‘self’ to climb to a new awareness of one’s god-like powers by living in a manner to attract good karma and positive energy, assuring us that mankind has the ability to bring utopia to this earth via the age of Aquarius or Enlightenment.

I say that what we are singing and reading and imagining is more lies from the prince of darkness himself. The only way one is going to find true peace is through Jesus Christ and the power of His Blood. Jesus is the only Prince of Peace that will be able to bring the Garden of Eden back to this earth. All else is a snow job.

‘The Death of a Medium’, by Laura Maxwell

A mother who muttered and spoke with the dead,
with ease predicting future events
dreams and visions played out in her head,
to development seances, she gladly went.
For this I was born?
Events for the occult was being formed,
strange sights drew me in deeper still.
From astral projection to yoga and zen,
sketching ghosts-the psychic arts,
crystals and chakras, trance and T.M.,
our home became haunted. Fear seized our hearts.
Then mother became more and more ill,
dangerous accidents-terror by night.
Spirits controlling against her will,
levitating furniture, a common sight.
Psychics and mediums who tried their best,
to rid our home of unwelcome guests.
No help from gods of wood or stone,
Mum and I lost in our cursed home.

Part Two

Afraid to stay in, afraid to go out,
wherever she went, they would follow.
Their evil voices would mock and shout, car halt, as spirits threw her across the road.
Events became more absurd,
I feared what would befall my mum,
trapped in an unseen world,
for her, this meant the end had come.
Hell’s final surge. The gates opened wide,
Spirits assailed of horror echoed that night,
I found a Bible, searching for Light.
Praying, “Who is the true God?” Please reveal.
Jesus Christ, is He Savior of all?”
His Word showed me Jesus forgives and heals
“Ghosts” screamed-fled the house when His Name I called,
Peace flooded my soul like a waterfall.
I learned to trust Him. His love cast out fears.
Joy in His Presence. Worship sublime.
A New church family I can call all mine.
Christ lovingly saved me from Satan’s snare.
Too late now, for Mum to pray,
if still alive what would you say?
“Don’t dabble even a spell.
Why sign your life over to a living hell?”

Laura wrote this poem in dedication to her Mother’s memory. Her ‘mum’ had dabbled with mediums and the occult until they forced her to take her life. Laura followed in her mother’s steps and now, after being delivered from the demons of deception inside her, she is trying to help others see the Light of Christ.

Mediums were able to accurately describe her dead sister and grandmother whom she had never met. In fact she didn’t even know she had a sister. When she asked her mum about this, she was informed that she did indeed have a sister, who died as a baby before Laura was born. Her grandmother died when Laura was very young, so she didn’t remember her. Mum confirmed the descriptions of her sister and grandmother to be accurately described by the medium. The medium even repeated common phrases that the grandmother had used when she was alive. Laura was deceived into believing all of this was for real. She later found out different.

She would have electrical appliances turn on in her house when they were not plugged in. She describes a spirit guide or angel guide that would lay in bed with her each night and stroke her hair while she went to sleep. She believed that it was her dead little sister coming to comfort her.

Things began to change from these visitations being friendly and helpful to being mean and dangerous. She went to other head mediums for advice and they assured her that she and her mum had to have some ‘bad karma’ in their lives somewhere, maybe a sexual sin or a desire to hurt someone, or some other kind of negative energy. A group of mediums came to their home and performed a cleansing of the ‘auras’ with incense and chants, to no avail. Then her mum’s angel guide turned vicious and picked her up as she was walking down the sidewalk and threw her onto an oncoming car’s hood. They then told her mum that she needed to kill her husband. Her mum saw snakes on her bed, and an evil eye on her bedroom wall, with closet doors being slammed and other things to torment her. Her mum ended up in a mental ward, heavily drugged, suffering nightmares. Laura talked to nurses that worked at the mental hospital who were ‘mediums’ themselves. They told Laura that they could hear the voices that her mum was hearing, but which no one else could. The nurses told Laura that some patients were not ill, but were harassed by spirits.

Laura met a friend, who invited her to her Pentecostal church. She didn’t accept Jesus that night but took a Bible and began to read and pray, asking for guidance to do the right thing. The first scripture she read was Jeremiah 7:4 and I John 4:1-3 both speaking of ‘deceptive’ spirits taking the place of God to receive worship. Then she read Isaiah 8:19 and Deuteronomy 18:10 and realized that these ‘angel-guides’ and ‘spirit-guides’ and ‘mediums’ were all ‘familiar’ spirits trying to imitate God and His angels. No wonder, she said, that they were able to know what her grandmother looked like and what her favorite phrases were and about her sister. They were demons masquerading as angels. “No wonder, for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light.” II Corinthians 11:14

These ‘good’ spirits were love and kindness when mum and Laura were doing those things that pleased them. It was when Laura tried to sever the ‘ties’ with them that these ‘good’ ‘angel-guides’ turned nasty and violent.

So, yes, like attracts like, but you won’t always find a check in the envelope just because you used your imagination to ‘will’ it there. It won’t be because of your bad aura that needs cleansed nor your bad karma that needs adjusted, nor because you need to get rid of that negative energy, it will be because there are two worlds we interact with on a daily basis, the natural and the spiritual. The natural is all about this life – forget the past and don’t worry about the future. Just have a good time and damn the results. The spiritual is more than just our thoughts and imagination. We attract in the ‘spirit world’ like for like. If we use just our superior intelligence and imagine and speak good things, we will seemingly see confirmation of our good karma, while all the time, it is familiar spirits that are familiar with all of the details of our life and the lives of our dead ancestors. They are impostors seeking to enslave you into bondage. By your entertaining them, you are worshiping them as your gods. That is until you decide to break that connection.

As Laura found out, they are demons, and they had to be cast out before she could find healing for her soul through the shed blood of Jesus Christ. Jesus is the way, the light and the truth to the Father. No man comes to the Father but by Jesus Christ.
