We are born innocent, both naturally and spiritually, into a hostile world. We need our natural parents to protect and provide for us until we can learn to protect and care for ourselves. We need teaching and practice under the guidance of our natural parents to keep us safe, while encouraging us to make right choices that will bless ourselves and those around us. We need spiritual mentors as well; unfortunately, our society has strayed from God’s Word, the only true light for our pathways. Hosea 6:4 says, “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge;..” If we do not read the Bible, then we cannot understand what it says about each area of our lives, especially about the area of Spiritual Warfare. We lack spiritual fathers to guide us.
When Jesus was on earth He said that He was going to go away, but that He would send us another comforter and would not leave us alone as orphans. The Holy Spirit is the comforter which Jesus spoke of; and one of the purposes of the Holy Spirit is to lead and guide us into Truth, and to bring to remembrance all that Jesus had taught. Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God, meaning that we have to read and hear the Word to produce Faith in our hearts, and to be able to have anything brought to our memories by the Holy Spirit. Is it any wonder that the enemy spends so much time encouraging people to stay away from church and their Bibles, while using people to attack the Bible as a book of stories? Only when you develop your personal relationship with your Heavenly Father will you see the lies about the devil’s attacks on God and His Word. He knows better than we do that the Bible is full of God’s Spirit and full of Life and Light to set souls free from enslavement to the flesh.
Romans 5:17 “For if by one man’s offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ. 18 Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life. 19 For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous. 20 Moreover the law entered, that the offence might abound. But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound: 21 That as sin hath reigned unto death, even so might grace reign through righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord.”
When Adam disobeyed God’s Word in the garden, he gave away his right to rule the earth with dominion and authority. He gave this legal spiritual authority to Satan, who became known as the Prince and power of the air, the god of this age, the ruler of darkness, the spirit that now works in the children of disobedience, the accuser of the brethren, the adversary, the tempter, among other titles. All of them signify spiritual authority over this earth and its atmosphere, and thus over all on the earth. The proof that he holds some kind of legal rights over this earth is shown when he offered Jesus all the kingdoms of this world, without Jesus denying that it was so.
Jesus came to destroy the works of the devil, by healing those who were sick and afflicted, while casting demons out of many. He gave this authority to his twelve disciples and to all who would believe in Him. In His Name, we are to heal the sick, and cast out demons; as He empowered us with His Holy Spirit and to call on His Name.
We have to do what He did when confronting affliction and bondage, ‘speak’ to it in His name and command it to get out of our lives, and out of the lives of our families. There is power in the spoken word, especially when it is the Word of God being spoken into the spirit world around us. Demons tremble and flee at His Scripture and Name.
Adam gave away his keys to a pure, unadulterated fellowship with the Heavenly Father for eternity, because he disobeyed God’s directions. The keys were given to the devil as the god of this world. Jesus had to come and defeat Satan by His death, burial, and resurrection. Jesus descended first into the lower parts of the earth and took the keys away from the devil. The devil is powerless, and has been stripped of his spiritual authority, but most people do not know this. We, as believers, have been given the keys to bind him away from our lives and the lives of our loved ones. But because we stay busy with the cares of this life, the little Word of God we have inside our hearts is choked to barrenness. The devil attacks us and our loved ones and we are always so surprised at the results. Isn’t he defeated?
Paul said we are enslaved to the one we obey. Sin dwells in our members and we do not have to do anything to encourage our bodies and minds to disobey God’s Word. It just comes naturally. What we need to realize is that each time we open our mouth and speak words contrary to God’s Word, those very words take on spiritual power and release negative energy. This is what demons thrive on and they immediately attach themselves to that negative energy field around us. In fact, it can even be so-called New Age positive energy. Demons still attach themselves to words of so-called love, because those words of love are outside of the pathway of the Lord Jesus Christ as the means to ascend to the Father. Each time we behave outside of God’s Word, demons immediately encourage that action with good sounding arguments to justify that behavior. When we keep repeating the sinful behavior and conversation, a stronghold will soon develop into a life pattern. We become a carrier for an infectious spiritual virus.
The point of all this is, if you are born of God, washed in the blood of Jesus, then your sin debt is paid. Satan has no legal right to inflict his nature upon you. He is a trespasser.
Even in the natural world we live in, trespassing is illegal, but left up to the individual. You can allow it if you want to. You may not want it to happen. You may not like it, but don’t do anything about it. Lots of people put up “No Trespassing” signs hoping to keep people out, but do nothing about those who trespass anyway. In our natural world, if you want to put a stop to it, the law of the land is on your side. The legal system, the county, state, and even federal courts are here to enforce the law on your behalf, but they will not make a move until you do.
It is the same with spiritual trespassers. Jesus died to make all men free. Romans 6:14 says, “For sin shall not have dominion over you”; but we can allow Satan to trespass, steal from us, inflict his nature upon us, and allow him to have his way in our lives. We may not like it. We may not want it. But unless we stand up and resist him, he will continue to trespass into our lives, born again or not. James 4:7 says submit yourselves therefore to God, resist the devil and he will flee. If we will claim our legal rights, according to the work that Jesus did on our behalf, when we resist the devil and tell him to flee, we have all of heaven to back us up.
The devil doesn’t always use evil things to enslave us, sometimes he uses things that seem so innocent and harmless on the surface. Let’s look at ‘Yoga’ for an example. The devil is unconcerned with the words and activity as long as it doesn’t lift up Jesus Christ as the only way to the Father.
This industry brings more than 27 billion dollars into the USA each year! The word and concept of yoga comes from Hinduism and means ‘the path followed so as to realize the god within’. It involves the use of special postures and positions, along with meditation, to produce an altered state of consciousness, and ultimately to achieve union with god. All forms of yoga involve an occult philosophical base and assumptions, even that which is presented as a purely physical exercise. Although the beginning level appears only as a form of exercise or gymnastics, breathing, and relaxation exercises, the advanced levels are connected with a mastery of cosmic forces; the practice of spiritualistic and magical phenomena.
Shiva is a Hindu god known as the destroyer. While many Hindu deities are associated with the different paths of yoga and meditation, in Shiva, the art of meditation takes its most absolute form. It is believed that the path of Lord Shiva is the path of the ascetic yogi.
Kundalini yoga teaches that seven centers of psychic energy in the body store energy from the universal life force. Various exercises and meditations awaken these centers, allowing the power to rise up the spine, an event called Kundalini. This power can be manipulated to promote healing. The ultimate result is enlightenment.
Why is this allowed in our churches, schools and businesses? My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge, and operating with the natural mind, man falls into demonic worship in one form or another. We have Christian believers unknowingly become instructors in the ancient worship to Hindu deities. See how easy it is for the devil to deceive us without a working knowledge of God’s Word? Jesus defeated Satan by quoting the Word to him. We will not be able to resist the enemy of our souls with anything less.
