In the March issue of Decision magazine, Franklin Graham makes a very good point about America’s morality falling below Russia’s. It is sad that we, as a nation founded on Christian values, have become less concerned over morals than many non-Christian nations. God has not changed; nor has His stance against the sins of this world changed. He still considers some sins an abomination, no matter how many laws we enact as a society.
‘Abomination’ is used exclusively to describe things that are disgusting, loathsome and absolutely intolerable — things that are unacceptable to God.
The book of Revelation explicitly states, concerning the New Jerusalem that God is preparing for His people, “There shall by no means enter it anything that defiles, or causes an abomination or a lie, but only those who are written in the Lamb’s Book of Life” (Revelation:21:27).

Last month, Franklin Graham, son of famed international evangelist Billy Graham and president of his father’s namesake ministry, lauded Russia’s recently enacted heavy-handed anti-gay laws that ban “propaganda” while associating homosexuality with pedophilia.
“Isn’t it sad, though, that America’s own morality has fallen so far that on this issue — protecting children from any homosexual agenda or propaganda — Russia’s standard is higher than our own?” Graham wrote in a column in the March issue of the organization’s publication, Decision magazine. “In my opinion, Putin is right on these issues. Obviously, he may be wrong about many things, but he has taken a stand to protect his nation’s children from the damaging effects of any gay and lesbian agenda.”
The younger Graham has made it no secret that he thinks there’s a “gay and lesbian agenda” in the U.S. Or that he believes children are at risk because of it.
“It’s crystal clear to me that their generation does not care about homosexuality the way that the baby boomers and Billy Graham’s generation cared about it,” he said. “There is no doubt that when the baby boomers are all dead, evangelicals are going to have a small core of anti-homosexuality. The paradigm is about to die out.”

We are fast approaching the Days of Noah, where God will judge the earth by fire.
II Peter 3:7 says, “And by the same word, the present heavens and earth have been stored up for fire. They are being kept for the day of judgment, when ungodly people will be destroyed.”
II Timothy 3:1-5 says, “But understand this, that in the last days there will come times of difficulty. For people will be lovers of self, lovers of money, proud, arrogant, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, heartless, unappeasable, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not loving good, treacherous, reckless, swollen with conceit, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having the appearance of godliness, but denying its power. Avoid such people.”
Romans 1:21-32 says, “For although they knew God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened. Although they claimed to be wise, they became fools and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images made to look like a mortal human being and birds and animals and reptiles. Therefore God gave them over in the sinful desires of their hearts to sexual impurity for the degrading of their bodies with one another. They exchanged the truth about God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator — who is forever praised. Amen. Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural sexual relations for unnatural ones. In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed shameful acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their error. Furthermore, just as they did not think it worthwhile to retain the knowledge of God, so God gave them over to a depraved mind, so that they do what ought not to be done. They have become filled with every kind of wickedness, evil, greed and depravity. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit and malice. They are gossips, slanderers, God-haters, insolent, arrogant and boastful; they invent ways of doing evil; they disobey their parents; they have no understanding, no fidelity, no love, no mercy. Although they know God’s righteous decree that those who do such things deserve death, they not only continue to do these very things but also approve of those who practice them.”
God loves sinners no matter what sin they commit. He accepts all who will repent of those sins as His children. As His children we become members of His Kingdom. As members of His Kingdom, we are subject to what pleases Him. He made this very clear through His Son in John 14:15, ““If you love me, you will keep my commandments.”
Acts 17:30 says, “God overlooked people’s ignorance about these things in earlier times, but now he commands everyone everywhere to repent of their sins and turn to him.”
Repentance is a change of heart and mind that brings us closer to God. It includes turning away from sin and turning to God for forgiveness. It is motivated by love for God and a sincere desire to obey His commandments.
Is it interesting that people are willing to change their behavior to be able to live peacefully with their fellow-man at home, school, work, and play; but they are unwilling to change their behavior to live peacefully with their Creator. The Peace of Christ only dwells within the hearts of those who obey His teachings. Thank God for those preachers who are still taking a stand for what does and what does not please our God.
