Son’s Visit

My youngest son visited with my wife and I last evening, and decided to spend the night. We played a total of 48 games of pool. Some 8-ball, some 9-ball. The wife won 6 games, but she was busy cooking supper and baking ginger bread, so she didn’t play as many as we did. N. won 23 to my 19, and then he won ‘Winners Take All’. We always play one last game, so that no matter who is behind, has a chance to win the final game. (didn’t help me!)

We originally bought the pool table together. N. paid half and we paid half, with the agreement that N. could take the table with him when he built his new home. Then the wife got to liking the table being in the basement, as we play three or four nights per week. She decided that she did not want to give up the table, so we informed N. and bought him out. The table is now ours, and N. is not getting it….well, maybe after we be dead and buried….

After we were all played out, we both retired to the living room, where the wife played word games and watched TV, and we men read books on our Kindle E-Readers. (N. played word games too)

N. has been a ‘gift’ to each member of the family and to everyone else he is around. He is easy to get along with, and seeks to fit into whatever situation he finds himself in at the moment. He is an adventurer and keeps busy doing various activities with his buddies including: four-wheeling, shooting guns, working out at the gym, Zip-lining, White Water Rafting, and a host of others. No grass grows under N.!

He gets along well with his sister and his brother, and does not hesitate to help out anywhere and whenever he can do so, while adjusting his busy schedule as a nurse.

It was totally fun having my youngest son for the evening. I am so blessed with the love of my children and wife.
