The Resurrections

Contrary to New Age beliefs every man, woman and child shall die.

“It is appointed unto man to die once, after that comes the judgement.” Hebrews 9:27

New Age Beliefs

New Agers advocate creating your own reality, and after death we are literally reborn and live another life as a human. Jesus Christ was not and is not the only Christ, nor is He God.

The Typical New Ager believes:

      God is in everything (pantheism)
All things are one (monism)
Man is God
Mind creates reality
One’s own experience validates the truth

New Agers do not believe in evil. Therefore, they do not accept man’s problem as separation by sin from God. Instead, they believe that each of us has forgotten his or her own divinity. Therefore, the New Age solution is to seek “higher consciousness” through meditation, breathing exercises, yoga, diet, crystals, channeling spirit guides, and more. Each of these diverse practices has the same purpose: to awaken the god in man.

Rapture

The Bible teaches that those who believe in Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior, and are keeping themselves separated from things that displease Him, and are looking for His return will be snatched out of this world to meet the Lord in the air. I Thessalonians 4:16 & I Corinthians 15:42-25

That there will be a second resurrection after the 1000 years of peace. Revelation 20:5

People Raised from the Dead in the Bible.

People caught up to God in the Bible

  • Enoch walked with God and was not for God took him. Genesis 5:24
  • Elijah was caught up to God in a chariot of fire. II Kings 2:11
  • Paul was caught up to the third heaven. II Corinthians 12:2
  • Moses and Elijah were resurrected to converse with Jesus Christ on the Mt. of Transfiguration Matthew 17:3
  • John was caught up in the Spirit receiving the Revelation of Jesus Christ Revelation 4:1

The Resurrection of Jesus Christ

All other men including great teachers, have died with their bodies going back to dust. Death reigns over all, whether they are rich or poor, the president of the United States or the common Joe trying to make ends meet. All men will die and face a judgement.

Jesus Christ is the only man who has ever resurrected from the dead.

There have been a number of people raised from the dead by Old Testament Prophets, and by Jesus and His Apostles in the New Testament. They still had to die a physical death after they were raised from the grave, because Jesus had not yet died for their sins, and He had not yet cleansed the evil of Lucifer from the heavens. Job 15:15 & Hebrews 9:23

There are validated  modern-day  instances of people being raised from the dead. Reinhard Bonnke has seen this happen in his ministry.

When Jesus rose from the tomb, Matthew records that the saints who had died rose from their tombs or graves with Him. Matthew 27:52

Christ appeared to Saul or Paul and to many others after His resurrection

  • To Mary Magdalene (Jonh 20:11-18, Mark 16:9)
  • To the other women (Matthew 28:8-10)
  • To Peter (Luke 24:24, I Corinthians 15:5)
  • To the two on the road to Emmaus (Luke 24:13-35, Mark 16:12)
  • To ten of the disciples (Luke 24:36-43. John 20:19-19-29)
  • To all eleven disciples, eight days later (John 20:25-29)
  • To seven disciples by the Sea of Tiberias (John 21:1-23)
  • To five hundred followers (I Corinthians 15:6)
  • To James (I Corinthians 15:7)
  • To the eleven, at the ascension (Acts 1:3-12)

The Resurrection of Life and the Resurrection of Condemnation

“Do not be amazed at this, because a time is coming when all who are in the tombs will hear his voice and will come out – the ones who have done what is good to the resurrection resulting in life, and the ones who have done what is evil to the resurrection resulting in condemnation.” John 5:28, 29

There will be a judgement for believers known as the Judgment Seat of Christ. II Corinthians 5:10 This judgement is for works we have done or have not done for Christ. It is not for sin for our sins are judged on a daily basis by confession to Jesus Christ our High Priest.

There will be a judgement of the unbelievers at the Great White Throne for sins and works, for individuals and nations.

There will be those who are killed in the Tribulation for refusing to deny Christ as their Lord. These will be caught up or resurrected to Christ.
