The Name of Jesus is above all Names and every knee shall bow before Him, and every tongue shall confess to Him as Lord of lords and King of kings! (Philippians 2:10-11)
In Greek, it is Iēsous; in Aramaic, the language Jesus spoke, Yesu. Both are derived from the Hebrew, in which the name is Yeshua or Joshua. Joshua is made up of two parts: Ya, which is short for Yahweh, and hoshea, which means “salvation.” Hence, Mary and Joseph gave their little baby the name Jesus — “Yahweh saves.”
Many today believe Jesus Christ is a good moral man who reached spiritual enlightenment above other men.
Muslims believe Jesus was one of Islam’s many prophets. He was a good and holy man, but He was not the Son of God.
Mormons believe God created Jesus via a relationship with one of His celestial wives. They believe Satan was also a son of God and a brother to Jesus.
Jehovah’s Witnesses believe Jesus is an angel or just one of many gods. They give Jesus the title god with a small “g” and believe that He is not the Almighty God.
New Age adherents believe Jesus was an enlightened teacher realizing that He was God, just as we all can realize that we are God. God is not personal but energy or force. All can tap into this energy with the right thinking, behavior, and meditation and become part of the Universe. New Agers incorporate Yoga as part of their meditation.
Hindus believe Jesus was one of many great and holy men. He was a good teacher and one of the 300 million incarnations of Brahman (their impersonal, pantheistic deity. (Pantheism=the universe as a manifestation of God and accepts many gods).
Buddhists believe Jesus was an enlightened man. He was not God in the flesh.
I have seen demons respond to the Name of Jesus Christ, in the States and in Africa. Demons have to come out of the demon possessed in the Name above all other names. Demons have to respond to the Name of Jesus Christ and to the authority of the Word of God! They know the Bible is the Word of God! (Luke 10:17 & Ephesians 6:17)
Demons acknowledge Jesus as the Son of God who will judge them.
“And behold, they cried out, saying, What have we to do with thee, thou Son of God? art thou come hither to torment us before the time?” (Matthew 8:29)
“Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble.” (James 2:19)
I have seen Jesus Christ in several dreams and visions. He has spoken to me many times over the years in a voice that is distinct from my inner voice.
One time I was standing on the platform leading the congregation in worship when God let me see Him in golden light smiling at the souls ascending up into heaven. Another time I saw Him appear to me as I was wrestling with dark unseen beings in prayer, giving me a breakthrough as He floated by me.
Jesus Christ may be a swear word to many, or a good teacher to others, but He was Lord and God to Thomas and the Apostles. He is definitely the image of the invisible God to me! (Colossians 1:15)
