Prince Charles is the next in line to the British throne. When his mother, Queen Elizabeth, abdicates, retires, or dies, Prince Charles will be the next King of England. Only if Prince Charles decides not to reign as king, can he pass it along to his eldest son Prince William.

“The Spirit himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ, provided we suffer with him in order that we may also be glorified with him.” (Romans 8:16-17)
I can’t imagine what it would be like to inherit the wealth, fame and power as the next King of England or the next President of the United States of America. As we have seen throughout history, few people can truly handle it with any degree of humility while retaining moral and ethical relationships.
Unfortunately, the record for Christian pastors and priests also shows very few who can walk the talk without abusing their power with people, money, or morals and ethics. Billy Graham is considered a Prophet with Honor because he lived his whole life totally sold out to his Lord. Now, his son, his daughter, and his grandson are all following in his footsteps.
Psalm 127:3 says children are a heritage from the Lord. They are a reward from Him.
God called Abraham a friend of His because He knew that Abraham would teach his children the ways of God. (Genesis 18:19)
Today’s children are growing up without God, believing anything and everything about the spirit world that is contrary to the Bible. This is a direct result of divorce and broken families. The father is missing as the priest and spiritual authority of the household. Children are left without a dad and rise up to challenge the authority of the mother. When the antichrist appears, he will find many hearts without the Light of God’s Word, willing to receive his false message as the true one to be worshipped.
If we knew and understood what the Bible teaches about the ‘Birthright’ of the ‘Firstborn,’ we would never be deceived. We would never envy the office of a Queen, or King, or a President. We would even stop trying to be our own gods. We would try harder to keep families intact and teach our children and grandchildren to follow the teachings of our Lord. We would consider these just as unworthy of our energy as Moses did the riches and pleasures of the Pharoah of Egypt.
You as a Christian seeking to keep the teachings of your Lord are honored with the promise of eternal life, and reigning with Him as kings and priests. These were the offices promised in the birthright to the firstborn son with the Patriarchs and under the Law. These should be the spiritual positions that parents should be demonstrating for our children and grandchildren and great-grandchildren. This is why God favored Abraham so highly: he taught his children to worship the true God.
Jesus fulfilled the Law in all ways, even being the ‘Firstborn’ and only Son of His Father and the ‘Firstborn’ from the grave. He now gives that same inheritance to you as His spiritual sons and daughters. When He returns, He will rule the earth from New Jerusalem, and you as His spiritual son or daughter are promised to rule with Him throughout eternity.
We need to learn more about what it means to be the Firstborn Son in the Bible.
